Using the Uniform Theory of Diffraction to Analyze Radio Wave Propagation along Urban Street Canyons for Device-to-Device Communication

چکیده

This paper examines the propagation of radio waves in so-called urban street canyons through formulations based on Geometrical Optics (GO) and Uniform Theory Diffraction (UTD). As this type environment comprises a flanked by tall buildings more or less equally spaced both sides (creating canyon-like morphology), estimating attenuation that signals may experience these scenarios is crucial to planning device-to-device (D2D) wireless communication. In sense, results obtained analysis GO/UTD (in horizontal plane containing transmitter receiver) are validated comparison with experimental measurements, showing good agreement. work demonstrates how use GO/UTD-based can contribute simpler computationally efficient D2D mobile communication systems which considered be modeled as an canyon comprising rectangular equispaced buildings.

High-Speed Data Dissemination over Device-to-Device Millimeter-Wave Networks for Highway Vehicular Communication

Gigabit-per-second connectivity among vehicles is expected to be a key enabling technology for sensor information sharing, in turn, resulting in safer Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITSs). Recently proposed millimeter-wave (mmWave) systems appear to be the only solution capable of meeting the data rate demand imposed by future ITS services. In this poster, we assess the performance of a mm...

Combined shared/dedicated resource allocation for Device-to-Device Communication

Device-to-device (D2D) communication is an effective technology enhancing spectral efficiency and network throughput of contemporary cellular networks. Typically, the users exploiting D2D reuse the same radio resources as common cellular users (CUEs) that communicate through a base station. This mode is known as shared mode. Another option is to dedicate specific amount of resources exclusively...
